Thursday, 26 May celebrates Corpus Christi. While this is a Public Holiday, transport will still operate as though it were a Sunday. Delegates will still be able to get around Dusseldorf with ease.

Congress Kit and Name Badge

Upon registration you will receive a Congress kit that includes the printed material of the Congress and your name badge. Please wear your name badge at all times during the Congress and to all official Congress events.

Climate

May in Düsseldorf is generally clear frequent periods of  rain and humidity ranging from 21% to 90%. Temperatures range between 7°C (46ºF) to 17ºC (64ºF). Warm attire is recommended.

Transportation from Düsseldorf Airport to Congress Venue

 

By Public Transport (approx. 30 minutes)

By Rail

Regular trains link to various destinations each day from Düsseldorf Airport’s railway station, Düsseldorf Flughafen. Deutsche Bahn (tel: +49 180 699 6633; www.bahn.de) services include regional, express, intercity and high-speed InterCity Express (ICE) trains that connect the airport to a number of cities in Germany. The journey time from Düsseldorf Flughafen to Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) is around 10 minutes and the single fare is €8.

The automated Sky Train links the railway station and the terminal building in around six minutes.

Metro:The local S11 S-Bahn metro train runs directly into the airport complex and links to Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof in the city centre (journey time: 30 minutes; fare: €2.60). Tickets can be purchased from the machines on the platform.

By Road

Bus:The bus station is located in front of Arrivals, from which a good selection of VRR (tel: +49 180 650 4030) regional services operate. Bus 760 runs regularly to Ratingen Ost, bus 721 runs to Tannenhof via Düsseldorf central station, and bus SB51 operates to Kaarst-Rathaus via Düsseldorf-Nordfriedhof. Several other regional services call at a separate bus station near the railway station. The fare to the city centre is €2.60.

Taxi:Taxis leave from in front of Arrivals. Official operators include Taxi-Düsseldorf (tel: +49 211 33333;www.taxi-duesseldorf.com) and Rhein-Taxi (tel: +49 211 212 121; www.rheintaxi.de). All official taxis are cream-coloured. Fares start at around €20 to the city centre

Visas

Participants from certain countries may require a visa in order to travel to Germany. Participants are requested to check with their local German Consulate/Embassy well in advance of their travel date. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa as necessary.
